Located in the Pinar del Rio county in the Sierra del Rosario (25 000 hectares), area declared Reserve of the Biosphere by the UNESCO.
Soroa´s altitude is a little more than 200 meters above the sea level, among mountains, valleys and rivers. It has a rich vegetation with always green forests, orchids and ferns, among their main exponents.
The 20 meters high jump of water, is the symbol of Soroa, place where the biggest orchids plantation in Cuba is also located; it collects around 8 000 specimens of 250 species, 90 Cuban included, in an area of 35 000 m² located in the north hillside of the Loma del Fuerte.
